Privacy notice

This notice explains what personal data Recycler Daily collects, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and your rights.Recycler Daily is run by JP Anime Ltd ("we", "us").

Our role

For your account, billing and our emails to you, we are the controller: we decide how that data is used.

For the load details you enter and send to DEFRA (for example carrier names, registration numbers and vehicle registrations), your business decides what is entered and why, and we process it on your behalf to provide the service. You are responsible for having the right to share it with us.

What we collect

• Account: your email address and a securely stored password (we can't see it), and the date you agreed to our Terms.
• Sites: name, address, permit number, DEFRA API Code, and the site's email and phone if you add them.
• Loads: what you enter for each load and DEFRA's response, including any personal details about carriers or brokers.
• Activity: who sent each load and the IP address it was sent from, so every submission can be traced.
• Payments: handled by Stripe. We keep the amount, date, and the card type and last 4 digits, never the full card number.
• Messages: anything you send to hello@recyclerdaily.com.
• Reviews: your rating and comment, and the name and job title you add.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

• To provide the service you signed up for (contract): your account, sending loads to DEFRA, keeping your records, taking payment.
• To meet our legal obligations (legal obligation): for example keeping payment and accounting records.
• To keep the service secure and prevent misuse (legitimate interests): for example logging who sent each load and from where.
• To name sites as customers on our website (legitimate interests): only a site's name, and its admins can turn it off. Some site names include a person's name, for example a sole trader.
• To show reviews on our website (consent): you tick a box to agree when you send one, and you can delete it in the app at any time.
• To email you about your account (contract and legitimate interests): receipts, low credits, admin requests, and warnings before an inactive site closes.

We don't sell your data, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't send marketing emails.

Who we share it with

• DEFRA: the load details you send, as the law requires.
• Supabase: our database, hosted in London.
• Vercel: hosts the website.
• Stripe: card payments.
• Resend: sends our emails.
• Google Analytics: only if you accept analytics cookies on our public website (see Cookies).

Some of these providers are based in, or may process data in, the USA. Where data leaves the UK, it is protected by the UK's adequacy arrangements (such as the UK-US Data Bridge) or by approved contract terms.

How long we keep it

• A site with no loads for 6 months is closed after three email warnings, and its records are deleted 90 days later.
• A site an admin closes is deleted 90 days later. Until then an admin can reopen it.
• When you delete your account, your login is deleted straight away, along with any site only you were on.
• An account with no sites is deleted after 90 days.
• IP addresses are cleared after 12 months.
• Stripe keeps the records of your payments for as long as tax law requires.

Recycler Daily is not a records archive. Download your records (Loads → CSV) and keep them for as long as the law requires you to.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access to each site is limited to the people it's shared with, and only a site's admins can see its DEFRA API Code. If a breach affects your data, we'll tell you and, where required, the Information Commissioner's Office.

In the app, we only use the cookies needed to keep you logged in and remember which site you're working on. No tracking or advertising cookies.

On our public website (the home page, Terms and Privacy), we use Google Analytics cookies to see how people find and use it, but only if you click Accept. If you click Reject, Google Analytics isn't loaded at all. You can change your choice any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the page. We don't use advertising cookies.

Your rights

You can download a copy of your data or delete your account yourself, in the app under More → Your account. You can also ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to limit or stop using it, or ask for it in a portable format. Email hello@recyclerdaily.com and we'll reply within one month. For load details that belong to another business, we may pass your request to that business.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Who can use Recycler Daily

Recycler Daily is for businesses. It isn't meant for anyone under 18.

Changes to this notice

If we change this notice, we'll update the date at the top, and email you about any important change.
